If there is one aspect of technology that will catch up with humanity very fast is the ‘storage of data’. In as much as we have cloud storage, there is still a limit to how much we can store in the cloud. Dina Zielinski explains how we can use human DNA to store digital data and unlock our storage potential.

Is it possible?
One thing that technological advancements have shown us is that nothing is impossible. Not only is storing digital data in DNA possible, but has already been proven to be working. This means that we can use the unending benefits of the DNA to create huge amounts of storage space for our digital data. Furthermore, DNA does not require electricity and storage in it is timeless.

How to store digital data in DNA
Well, the process might be a little bit complex and scientists can unearth better. However, in simple terms, you start by learning to sequence DNA or reading the DNA then writing it down and synthesizing it. You then send this information to a synthesizing company where the information is synthesized and stored for your retrieval at any time.
