The need to build non-biased robots
The advancement of artificial intelligence, resulting into the widespread use robots has been of a great influence in our lives. Ayanna Howard; however, is concerned about the way the robots have copied human behaviour, including the biases we have. For example, she says that robots are likely to associate women with the kitchen, laundry, grocery, etc. while it is easy to associate men with driving, great business investment etc. This kind of gender biasness is what she recommends should be stopped.
Solution:
When new robots are built, they should not be associated with factors that cause biasness such as race and gender. This way, the robots will not be able to execute these biased opinions in their actions.
