Artificial Reality: Humanity Final Frontier
Technologist Galit Ariel explains how Augmented Reality (AR) is the final frontier of the humanity. While steering clear from downgrading Virtual Reality (VR), she suggests that AR has a better chance to bring us closer to the dream of interaction with the physical realities as we’ve always wanted.
What is AR?
It is the addition of the digital objects to our existing physical realities. Some technologies, such as VR, push us away from our physical realities, which is not a literal case of technological advancement.
What AR does is to duplicate the physical objects into digital one. Just try to imagine watching a documentary about nature with an additional layer of a digital forest surrounding you in your living room. AR is all about intertwining digital and physical realities.
