The “Startup of the Week” spotlight by Yozma Circle serves as a unique platform for tech entrepreneurs to gain exposure and share their ventures with high-tech leaders and decision-makers of the circle.

We have known Eran for a long time, thanks to his tireless work and desire to leave a significant mark on the world.

I approached Eran as part of the interviews we conduct with high-tech leaders to present the fascinating venture.

Who are you, Eran? And what is your journey as a tech entrepreneur?

My name is Eran, I retired early 15 years ago from Israel to New Zealand after a successful exit, and now we live on a small farm in New Zealand.

For a long time, I mainly worked on the farm and did some tech consulting projects mainly for the New Zealand government, but after a while, I got bored and decided to return to business and entrepreneurship.

I am currently running a development company that mainly deals with technologically challenging projects requiring a high level of skill and my venture called Facenition.

Facenition is a self-funded startup company based on a patent in the field of computer vision and facial recognition, providing a unique analytics solution for physical stores and businesses,

something like Google Analytics but for the real world.

We are starting sales next month :-).

In principle, I see technology as a tool, not a goal.

My personal goal is to improve people’s lives, physically and spiritually, while maintaining privacy and individual rights.

This is essentially what our patent deals with – we managed to achieve two things:

– Firstly, to perform complete facial recognition without any storage of private information, including without storing facial images or images that allow reconstructing a person’s face or identity. (Which is almost non-existent in the market today)

This patent is going to revolutionize the facial recognition and biometric identification industry, as it will allow doing everything a smart ID card does – without the possibility of misusing the information.

Ultimately, the patent gives control over privacy to the individual, not the organization.

Which brings me to the next value:

– We managed to reduce the cost of performing complex analytics so that even small business owners or individuals can enjoy the same technological power that
