This time in the Startup of the Week spotlight, we are pleased to host Lilach Gilliam, Co-founder of the LYG-Tech initiative, a robust business management software in a One Stop Shop style.

The “Startup of the Week” spotlight of Yozma Circle serves as a unique platform for tech entrepreneurs to gain exposure and share their ventures with high-tech leaders and decision-makers of the circle.

Who are you, Lilach? And what is your journey as a tech entrepreneur?

My name is Lilach Gilliam, I am a Technion graduate, and until 3 years ago, I worked in large software companies – Amdocs (including an 11-year stay in the USA), Sapiens, etc.

In 2018, I decided to stop wandering the world, spending long hours on planes and in airports.

I knew I could do a lot with the extensive experience I had gained. Years of experience in managing large and complex technology projects, customer management, as well as managing development, support, sales, and implementation teams.

The path led me to technology consulting in the field of information systems.

Helping clients make significant technological steps or replace or upgrade their existing solutions (Digital Transformation).

Topics such as:

  • Implementing CRM systems for customer management for businesses
  • Implementing financial systems in organizations ERP
  • Integration of systems for project and task management (case management for law firms)
  • Additional integrations of solutions for document management, data analysis, building a system for dynamic report creation
  • Time and attendance reporting

The search for niche systems led to the expansion of solutions, requiring integrations between them, data synchronization, and the need for development and maintenance. Costs increased significantly, timelines extended, and complexity grew to levels that affected the feasibility of the process.

This repeated search clearly showed the market’s need for a robust and unified system that would provide all the mentioned capabilities in one place, saving the need for integrations between them and significantly reducing costs, implementation time, and the level of complexity and support.

I discovered such a system!!! – Odoo, originating from Belgium.

What is the Odoo system?

Odoo employs about 1,500 employees worldwide, growing at a rapid pace in the last two years of about 60% per year, and its solutions are currently used by more than 7 million users worldwide. Odoo offers an integrated solution for businesses with countless capabilities/functions that all “speak” and synchronize with each other. Odoo, which is based on open source, has a huge developer community that adds capabilities to the basic system every day. Currently, the number stands at close to 27,000 applications with different capabilities that all “speak” to each other and are under the company’s Market Place and undergo thorough performance testing by thousands of users.”

Odoo has additional advantages such as a convenient and modern interface, the ability to add functionality gradually and as needed. The total cost of ownership of Odoo is significantly lower than competing solutions:

Relatively low license price compared to competitors.

Built-in integration

Light and intuitive employee training

Yves Goldberg (the technology partner), has been providing Odoo solutions in Israel since 2013, and we already see how the system saves a lot of time and resources for our clients.

What values drive you as an entrepreneur and professional?

I have always been involved in some form of entrepreneurship. After returning to Israel, I exported art and modern Judaica to the USA, and until a decade ago, I was, among other things, a
